What happens

On Salisbury Plain in South Georgia, there are penguins as far as you can see: king penguins with golden necks and fluffy brown chicks that look like they're wearing fur coats. Fur seal pups wave from the grass, and a giant elephant seal lets out a loud BURP and rolls onto the ball.

Fun facts

  • King penguin chicks are so fluffy and brown that people once thought they were a different bird.
  • Elephant seals are named for their big floppy noses.
  • Only scientists live on South Georgia, with millions of animals.
