The World's Tiniest Deer 🦌

What happens

On Chiloé Island in Chile, by the colourful houses on stilts, a deer smaller than a puppy peeks out of the ferns: the pudú, the tiniest deer in the world. Black-necked swans glide past and two kinds of penguins waddle down the shore.

Fun facts

• A pudú is about as tall as a cat!
• Chiloé's stilt houses are called palafitos.
• Humboldt and Magellanic penguins both live on Chiloé.
